Biography
Ed C. Tomlinson has been featured extensively by broadcast and print media on issues relating to the Colorado real estate market and property taxes. This includes The New York Times, Money Magazine and Time Magazine.
He has spoken before the Colorado Senate and House Interim Tax Committee to offer recommendations on improving Colorado’s property tax system.
Tomlinson was the key initiator of a major Colorado property tax assessment bill passed in the early 90’s. The bill changed the valuation process to make it more equitable for property owners.
Tomlinson had one other best selling book on Tattered Covers business books for six weeks. Real Estate for Pennies! Investing in Property Tax Liens for Profit and Property.
Tomlinson, a Realtor since 1971, is a top broker with RE/MAX Alliance in Arvada, Colorado The author is a member of the Jefferson County Association of Realtors, the Colorado Association of Realtors, and was senior arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. He was a Certified Senior Appraiser with the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers.
Tomlinson is a past executive committee director for the Jefferson County Association of Realtors and Metrolist Inc., the supplier of Multiple Listing Service (MLS) systems to metro Denver Realtors. Past director of the Jefferson County Housing Authority, the North Jeffco (APEX) Park and Recreation District and twice served as President of the Arvada Fire Protection District.
